Rosslyn McNally

Therapist

Welcome to West Coast Bowen. I'm glad you're here. You're in the right place to discover the life-changing power of wellness.

I am Rosslyn McNally, an assessment led Bowen Therapist (Importance of Symmetry/Targeting Primary Dysfunction), Pain Review therapist (OldPain2go), mother, meditator, martial artist, lover of all things outdoors and active. I care deeply about the environment and all life within it and have a passion for helping people to feel better both physically and mentally.

Lifestyle is such an important part of keeping healthy and becomes more so as we age. I have a daily practice of meditation, and Qi Gong, regular yoga practice and have chosen a lifelong vegetarian diet rich in a variety of freshly cooked - and where possible - organic and locally sourced ingredients. I live by the sea and love to regularly walk – and occasionally run - on the beach in all weathers, the stormier, the more exhilarating!

My journey

People, plants and the planet - my passion has always been in connecting with people and life. I worked for many years in the agri-environmental sector linking farming and biodiversity and alongside this I have always had a passion for holistic health, nutrition and fitness. Even as a young person there was a strong pull towards working to help heal bodies and even planned to study physiotherapy when I left school. It was not meant to be at that time in my life so due to family circumstances I was unable to follow this path at that time. However, my passion for healing and wellness always stayed with me.

Injuries from a decade of practicing Tae Kwon Do combined with desk working resulted for me in chronic back and neck pain so after many years of physiotherapy, massage and other modalities which offered limited relief for my pain, I was recommended to try Bowen Therapy so decided to give it a go. After only three sessions the pain that I’d had for over ten years completely vanished. What really interested me was that I could feel a shift and a release in my body - I wanted to know more!

I was inspired to revisit my earlier passion and re-engage my knowledge around health and the body. I began training as a Bowen Therapist, qualifying with the Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia in 2015. In the process, I have learned so much about how the body holds both physical and emotional stress which can lead to pain and love the holistic, ‘less is more’ approach that is the Bowen Technique.

My approach

I believe in the body's innate wisdom and capacity for self-healing. I use a combination of therapies in an integrated way that address physical, emotional and energetic issues to create a holistic approach to wellness.

Working with hands-on therapies, the approach is to restore healthy function to the body through bringing about balance to the whole body system. This is achieved by working with a combination of advanced assessment-led Bowen Therapy as well as with the body's meridian system and acupressure points, scar tissue work and lymphatic system work.

In combination with physical therapies and when working with chronic (long term) pain we can work with a methodology called OldPain2Go®. This talk therapy works with the body’s unconscious safety system to investigate and review the need for the chronic pain and release it if it’s no longer needed. You can read more about this approach below:

I have also recently completed my year long training in and am fully qualified to work with Bio-energy Therapy. More information on this amazing therapy and how I will be offering it to follow... In the meantime you can take a look here to find out about this approach:

I combine all of these therapies in a tailored way to support each individual in their journey to greater health & wellbeing, restored movement and a reduction in or more often complete freedom from their painful symptoms.
